The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost; My Testimony of the Godhead, rediscovered; incl. Videos
64Years ago as an adult, fallen away from the gospel, I struggled intensely to get past the utter confusion and differing views of my contemporaries in an effort to understand what the Godhead is. Finally, after much research, reverence, and humble prayer, I "regained" my understanding of what the Godhead really is. Really, it was much the same as the knowledge I possessed as a youngster - and not confusing at all! It has very much the same relationships in what a loving family would have, most especially that of Father and Son. The Holy Ghost is the most difficult member to understand, so to be plain, I shall say He is simply a Holy personage in the Godhead “family” whom I would describe as being a loving Uncle, very much involved with the welfare of His Brother’s family (and by extension His own as well). The Holy Ghost has a refined body that we would consider a Spirit, but it is much more, by virtue of His Holiness. This Spirit body allows Him to enter our minds and witness the truth unto us. So I shall try to produce scripture that speaks plainly, so that a youngster may understand (think Family) …

My Testimony of The Godhead
...
* Heavenly Father is the Creator, no doubt. Moreover, He was in charge of the act of creation (evidenced by “Let us” and “after our”, seen in Gen. 1:26 below):
Gen. 1: 1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Gen. 1: 26 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
* Heavenly Father is also the most high God:
Gen. 14: 18 “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.”
Ps. 78: 56 “Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:”
Heb. 7: 1 “For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;”
** Jesus Christ is the Son of Heavenly Father. The Father gave His very own witness of Jesus:
Matt. 3: 17 “And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
** Jesus Christ prayed to His Father (the most high God):
Matt. 26: 39, 42, 53 “(39) And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. (42) He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. (53) Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?”
John 16: 26 “At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:”
John 14: 16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;”
** Jesus Christ Himself testifies that the origin of the doctrine He teaches is from His Father:
John 7: 16 “Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.”
Later, in the same chapter:
** Jesus Christ cries in the temple where He is trying to teach the stubborn:
John 7: 28-29 (28) “Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. (29) But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
** Jesus Christ Himself again witnesses His Father, and explains of the witness His Father gave of Him:
John 5: 36-37 (36) “But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. (37) “And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.”
John 8: 18 “I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.”
*** The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead. He is our witness of truth. The Holy Ghost is sent from Heaven by command:
John 14: 16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;”
John 7: 39 “(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”
*** The Holy Ghost witnesses to us that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, as testified by John:
1 Jn. 5: 6 “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.”
*** The Holy Ghost is able to communicate with our spirits.
Rom. 8: 16 “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Remember, after Jesus was baptized by immersion “to fulfill all righteousness”, Heavenly Father spoke from a cloud, the Holy Ghost manifested Himself in the form of a dove, and Jesus Christ was in the water. Here you have three personages of the Godhead in the same area, but obviously and completely separate and distinct from one another.
Finally, as another Biblical witness, we have Stephen witnessing the Father and Son, while full of the Holy Ghost (i.e.: three personages in three places):
Acts 7: 55-56 (55) “But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, (56) “And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.”
I hope my Hub helps you understand like a youngster tends to.
Matt. 18: 4 “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Mark 10: 15 “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
Luke 18: 17 “Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”
If not, perhaps we can just agree that we are all the creations of God, and are all invited to be His children, and furthermore, that many promises are in store for the repentant and faithful.
Peace be with you.

This quote is
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It was given in an address given at the Logan [Utah] Institute of Religion on 17 February 1998 entitled “Building Bridges of Understanding”
“No matter how hard we work, no matter how much we obey, no matter how many good things we do in this life, it would not be enough were it not for Jesus Christ and His loving grace. On our own we cannot earn the kingdom of God—no matter what we do. Unfortunately, there are some within the Church who have become so preoccupied with performing good works that they forget that those works—as good as they may be—are hollow unless they are accompanied by a complete dependence on Christ. It is this dependence that causes us to want to sing what Alma eloquently referred to as “the song of redeeming love” (Alma 5:26).”

Very well done, I have never put all those verses together that way. The way you've highlighted them makes it undeniable that there are 3 entities involved in the godhead. The concept of 3 separate individuals being God is a hard one to understand, because the Bible also says that Jesus is God. Thank you for waking me up this morning!
Kudos for affirming your beliefs. I too, add my confirmation of the Godhead. Very well done.
